The insurance cover must cover all health services for the provision of which the health care provider has been given the corresponding licences.<\/p>\n<h3>Insurance cover<\/h3>\n<p>The compulsory liability insurance of health care providers helps compensate for harm caused to a patient during the provision of health care, which has occurred during the treatment process (e.g. diagnosis, treatment, administration of medication, transport of the patient, etc.) and which could probably have been avoided. In order to request compensation, patients can contact the insurer directly instead of the health service provider.<\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\"><strong>We offer two solutions for healthcare providers to arrange mandatory liability insurance.<\/strong> Both provide the required insurance coverage, but differ in how the coverage for the extended reporting period is paid for.<\/p>\n<p>Under one solution, the cost of coverage for the extended reporting period is included in the annual insurance premium.<\/p>\n<p>Under the other solution, the annual premium is lower during the customer relationship with PZU, and a separate payment for the extended reporting period coverage is only required when the customer relationship ends.<\/p>\n<p>Read the terms and conditions \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/pzu.ee\/en\/terms-and-conditions\/#toggle17\">Terms and Conditions | PZU Insurance<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Sums insured<\/h3>\n<p>The sum insured, i.e. the maximum claim to be compensated is \u20ac3 million per one-year insurance period, \u20ac300,000 per insured event and \u20ac100,000 per patient to whom the harm was caused, including the sum insured for non-pecuniary harm is \u20ac30,000 per insured event and \u20ac100,000 per injured patient.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Introduction The target market for compulsory liability insurance of health care providers in Estonia is self-employed persons and legal entities providing health care in Estonia who have been granted a licence under the Health Services Organisation Act.
