It also contains various guidelines on how to act and who to contact in the case of various events.

Please read about the loss adjustment process here.

      Some general guidelines:

      • The first thing is to always ensure the safety of people. If people have been injured as a result of the occurred event, immediately notify the Rescue Board and proceed as instructed.
      • In case of a traffic accident, register the event pursuant to the applicable legislation. If the parties to the accident cannot agree on who is to blame or the injured party is unknown, the police must be called to the scene of the accident.
      • In case of theft, theft of a vehicle, robbery or an act of vandalism, notify the police straight away and proceed as instructed.
      • In case of a fire, notify the Rescue Board immediately and proceed as instructed.
      • Try to keep in mind or, even better, write down as much about the circumstances of the accident and take as many photographs as possible – the registration number of the other vehicle, the address of the site of the accident, the contact details of the witnesses, etc.
      • Take all reasonable steps to ensure that the damage incurred does not increase – cover broken windows with plastic film and transport the immobile vehicle to a safe place (a repair shop, car park or home).
      • Inform the Environmental Inspectorate on 1313 of any deceased or injured large game (elk, roe deer, red deer, wolves, bears, lynx or wild boars) on a highway.
      • Inform the Traffic Information Centre on 1510 of any deceased or injured small game on roads.
      • Inform the local government of any injured or deceased animals in the city or in an urban community.
      • Notify the insurance company of the damage as soon as possible.

  • Changes in contact details

If your phone number, address or email address has changed, you can change it easily in our self-service.

  • Some advice about guaranteeing the safety of cars with electronic keys

      • You should keep the keys further away from windows and exterior doors to block the signal of the keys
The easiest way to protect an electronically started car from theft is to keep the keys as far from windows and exterior doors as possible to block the signal. You can also wrap them in foil, which also blocks the electronic signal. It’s also a good idea to invest in a bag that works by the principle of the Faraday cage and blocks the signal emitted by the keys. An empty metal coffee tin also works. This makes it more difficult for criminals to get the signal and deceive the electronics of the car.
      • If possible, park the car in a place that is guarded or well lit
Keeping the car in a well-lit place makes life harder for criminals, as it makes them more visible. The risk of getting caught is bigger, so they prefer to move on and look for an easier target. Parking the car in an area covered by security cameras also reduces the risk of theft.
      • We advise not keeping the gate remote in the vehicle
      • Installation of additional safety systems
Owners of expensive vehicles should consider installing additional safety systems to make stealing the car as difficult as possible. Installing an additional GPS device certainly helps as well, as it makes it possible to monitor the car’s location if it is stolen.
      • Inform the police about all suspicious activities
Caution and attention are very important. Reporting any suspicious movement of vehicles or people at night to the police is particularly important.
