  • New value insurance

      New value insurance

      New value insurance is required for a new vehicle. It provides the additional cover if the
      vehicle is destroyed or lost as the result of an insured event.
      New value insurance indemnifies the acquisition price of the vehicle (the price at which the vehicle was bought) if the following conditions have been met simultaneously:

      • the vehicle has only been in normal use during the insurance period;
      • the vehicle was first registered in Estonia and no more than one year has passed since registration by the time of the insured event;
      • Kasko Pluss package – included in the package;
      • Kasko package – the service is available for an extra fee.

  • Lease value insurance

      Lease value insurance protects you if, upon the total loss of the vehicle, the market value is lower than the value of the vehicle pursuant to the lease contract.
      Lease value insurance indemnifies the residual value pursuant to the lease contract if all the following conditions have been met:

      • the damage is not subject to indemnification on the basis of new value insurance;
      • the vehicle has only been in normal use during the insurance period;
      • the vehicle was registered for the first time no more than seven years ago;
      • the residual lease value of the vehicle does not exceed 35,000 euros;
      • the market value of the vehicle immediately before the insured event is lower than the value pursuant to the lease contract;
      • Kasko Pluss package – included in the package;
      • Kasko package – the service is available for an extra fee.

  • Replacement car

      The replacement car service ensures that you can use a replacement car free of charge upon an insured event for up to 30 days on the condition that the repair works of your vehicle last more than 24 hours. PZU replacement cars are provided by our partner Europcar in Tallinn, Tartu, Viljandi, Pärnu, Haapsalu, Rakvere, Kuressaare and Jõhvi.

      If you have a comprehensive motor insurance contract with PZU Kindlustus and your service package includes usage of a replacement car, simply let us know that you need a replacement car here.

      Below are listed the basics of replacement car provision and usage.

      You are entitled to a replacement car when:

      • the insurance policy includes the additional cover for a replacement car
      • the insured event is indemnified by PZU
      • your vehicle is undergoing restorative repairs
      • your vehicle cannot be in traffic due to the sustained damage
      • it is not practical to restore your vehicle

      You are not entitled to replacement car when:

      • you did not select the corresponding additional cover
      • the insured event is not indemnified by PZU
      • your vehicle is in maintenance
      • your vehicle is undergoing warranty repairs
      • you have already used a replacement car for 30 days during one insurance period, 30 days being the maximum replacement car usage duration for one one insurance period

      When you submit the replacement car request:

      • PZU will place the order with the partner
      • the partner will contact you by no later than within 5 working hours
      • you will agree on the replacement car provision details
      • subject to an additional agreement the replacement car can be delivered to an address of your choice, but in this case you will have to pay the additional service fee stipulated in the partner’s current price list

      Please bear in mind:

      The replacement car provided to the policyholder does not have to be equivalent to the vehicle that the policyholder insured with PZU, but the policyholder’s wishes will be taken into account if possible when selecting the replacement car. The replacement car cannot be used for courier, taxi, car sharing and rental services, as well as for learning how to drive. This is a classical car rental service where you have to comply with our partner’s terms and conditions of usage. If your vehicle is completely destroyed, you will be entitled to a replacement car until the date on which the indemnification decision is made. A replacement car is provided based on a valid driving licence.

      Replacement car rental abroad is done by the policyholder. The maximum indemnification sum per replacement car rental day is 50 euros (incl. VAT).

      The replacement car service is included in the Kasko Pluss package. If you have selected the Kasko package, you can purchase the additional cover for a replacement car.

      Replacement car provision

      Replacement cars are provided from Monday to Friday from 08.30-18.00 (depending on the region).You can collect your replacement car at a branch of our partner Europcar. Subject to an additional agreement the replacement car can be delivered to an address of your choice, but in this case you will have to pay the additional service fee stipulated in the partner’s current price list.       Replacement car rental period extension

      If you wish to extend the initial replacement car rental period, PZU will discuss it with the repair facility and then forward your extension request to the partner.

  • Technical failure

      Technical failure cover indemnifies the technical failure of your vehicle upon the simultaneous occurrence of the following special conditions:

      • the vehicle has only been in normal use during the insurance period;
      • the first registration of the vehicle has taken place no more than six years before the technical failure;
      • the mileage of the vehicle does not exceed 130,000 km as of the occurrence of the technical failure;
      • the good technical condition and smooth functioning of the vehicles that have been registered for the first time outside the Republic of Estonia have been confirmed by the Estonian distributor of the respective car manufacturer or a company approved by PZU. The confirmation must be given in a format that can be reproduced in writing prior to the occurrence of the insured event, but not more than 30 days before the entry into force of the insurance contract;
      • the vehicle has been maintained pursuant to the manufacturer’s instructions;
      • Kasko Pluss package – included in the package.

  • Rental car insurance

      Rental car insurance indemnifies the damage caused to a rental car by a policyholder who is a private person if the insured event is an accident, an act of vandalism or theft.

      • rental car insurance is valid on the condition that the car specified in the insurance policy is not used for participating in road traffic during the rental period of the rental car;
      • the rental car is a motor car and its rental period does not exceed 30 days;
      • the maximum indemnity per insured event is 16,000 euros and we indemnify the damage of up to three rental cars at most;
      • the provisions of the policy and insurance terms and conditions apply with respect to rental car insurance;
      • a rental car may not be used for providing commercial services or for driving practice;
      • rental car insurance does not apply in Estonia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus or Russia;
      • contractual penalties and default interest arising from the rental contract or from any other legal relationships are not indemnified.

      Example: You go on a trip and rent a rental car. In case of an accident, you must pay a deductible of 1,000 euros for the rental car. In this case, we will indemnify you the incurred expenses of 1,000 euros minus 200 euros (basic deductible of the policy), i.e. 800 euros.

      • Kasko Pluss package – included in the package.

  • Luggage insurance

      In case of luggage insurance all-risk insured events, the damage arising from damage to or destruction of the personal effects of the driver and the passengers stored in the luggage compartment of the vehicle is indemnified on the following conditions:

      • cash, securities, valuables, jewellery, documents (including photos, plans, drawings, etc.), electronic data media, tools, mobile phones, computers and photographic, audio
        and video equipment are not regarded as luggage;
      • in case of theft of luggage, we will indemnify the damage if the luggage was stored in a concealed manner in the locked luggage compartment of the vehicle;
      • in case of additional trailer insurance cover, the luggage that was in the trailer is subject to indemnification, excluding the damage caused by the theft or robbery of the luggage.
      • sum insured – 1,000 euros;
      • Kasko Pluss package – for an extra fee;
      • Kasko package – for an extra fee.

  • Trailer insurance

      Trailer insurance indemnifies the damage caused to your trailer arising from all-risk insured events on the following conditions:

      • the trailer was hooked up to the vehicle at the time of the insured event;
      • the trailer damage will be indemnified to the owner of the trailer specified on the trailer’s registration certificate;
      • the damage of the luggage in the trailer will only be identified if the luggage insurance additional cover has been purchased;
      • sum insured – 1,500 euros;
      • Kasko Pluss package – the service is available for an extra fee;
      • Kasko package – the service is available for an extra fee.
